Encountering the Dark Goddess online sadhana

In these changing times of much uncertainly, many of us are finding our ability to adapt being tested.  For me, it is finally embracing what other teachers and sacred space holders have been doing for years - that is bringing some of my teachings online.  I don't really know why I have been resisting doing this as, logically, it would enable a greater amount of people being exposed to my teachings, however the current climate has forced my hand.

The online version of Encountering the Dark Goddess is a month long online sadhana, or spiritual exploration, into your deep shadow self through the connection with various “darker” aspects of the Divine Feminine in order to commence positive change at the deepest level.

Making the most of these Changing Times

Come gather ’round people, wherever you roam

And admit that the waters around you have grown

So sung Bob Dylan in 1964.  Today times are certainly changing, and as more is learnt about the COVID-19 virus, the speed of this change can be extremely confusing.

Updates after a Long Absence

Any personal vision I may have had at the beginning of this year to make regular postings on this blog site to keep it up to date with my happens appear to have fallen by the wayside. However it has not totally been due to an extended stay of the Four Horsemen of Procrastination and Distraction, but rather the opposite.

In January I took a deep breath and sent off my manuscript for Encountering the Dark Goddess to a publisher.  As I nervously waited, the feedback started to be recorded:

"... intelligent/informative in it's [sic] historical/mythological aspect but with a practical and instructional element with a devotional element interwoven.  It's well written and strikes a good balance... "

"... taps into an existing market [ie dark goddess titles] but the shadow work and trauma healing … offers something other books haven't …"

The Four Horsemen of Procrastination and Distraction

As I knew that I would be away four weeks in September/October, I sent the manuscript of my contemporary witchcraft book off to an acquaintance to proofreader while a copy of Encountering the Dark Goddess manuscript came with me on my trip.  The vision I had at the end of August was for one of these books to be ready for release by the end of this year.  Then entered the four horsemen of procrastination and distraction.

I guess in all fairness I have been working on the manuscript for Encountering the Dark Goddess for some four years now (if I go by the date some of the original photos were sent to me).  Back then I thought it would be a relatively easy project after all it was to be based on the workshops that I had been running since 2006.  However, true to my nature, notes were rewritten, information further researched, more sections were added … and now yet another year is drawing to a close and the manuscript for the Encountering the Dark Goddess manuscript still hasn't been finalised to a point where I want to send it off to a proofreader.
