The Four Horsemen of Procrastination and Distraction

As I knew that I would be away four weeks in September/October, I sent the manuscript of my contemporary witchcraft book off to an acquaintance to proofreader while a copy of Encountering the Dark Goddess manuscript came with me on my trip.  The vision I had at the end of August was for one of these books to be ready for release by the end of this year.  Then entered the four horsemen of procrastination and distraction.

I guess in all fairness I have been working on the manuscript for Encountering the Dark Goddess for some four years now (if I go by the date some of the original photos were sent to me).  Back then I thought it would be a relatively easy project after all it was to be based on the workshops that I had been running since 2006.  However, true to my nature, notes were rewritten, information further researched, more sections were added … and now yet another year is drawing to a close and the manuscript for the Encountering the Dark Goddess manuscript still hasn't been finalised to a point where I want to send it off to a proofreader.

About this time last year when I thought the Encountering the Dark Goddess manuscript was almost good to go, I have even contemplated the idea of sending it off to a "real" publishing house to get a wider distribution range.  However as a good friend of mine has contributed a number of fantastic artworks to be included in the book, I have come to the conclusion that TDM Publishing will produce my upcoming book once again so that I can keep control of my vision and ensure that their artwork are included.

The result of its overseas adventure is that the Encountering the Dark Goddess manuscript will almost be good to go once the scribbled notes have been typed and one more reading has been undertaken.

Having another read of the contemporary witchcraft manuscript post proofreading, I have decided to include a "few tweaks" and pass it on to a coven member for their feedback.  As it will now not be ready for a Solstice/Christmas release, I am hoping that by the end of January (Lughnasadh, or the first harvest for those of us south of the equator) comes around, my contemporary witchcraft book will be available.
