The first evidence of the worship of the Goddess, or at least the female principle, dated back to around 35,000 BCE with the discovery of "Venus figurines", and throughout time, has been honoured in various cultures all around the world.
Divided into four main sections, In Her Sacred Name: Writings on the Divine Feminine brings together historial as well as personal perceptions of the Goddess, the Divine Feminine, as well as focusing on 13 specific aspect as She appeared within various cultures including Egyptian, Greek and Roman, Celtic, African and ancient Mesopotamian. The third section offers insight into many differing combinations of the Sacred She, including discussion about the seven Goddesses who appear in the ever popular "Goddess Chant" (originally penned by Deena Metzger and Caitlin Mullen) and the favoured Triple Goddess. The fourth and final section contains a selection of ideas of how to establish a deeper connection with the Divine Feminine in the modern age, from the construction of shrines and altars, to attuning with the various energies and performing rituals.
